Boyhood

Hey, CONGRATULATIONS TO BOYHOOD for such fantastic awards recognition! (January 2015)

Still thinking about this beautiful, gentle, lyrical, engaging, funny film that makes you feel that everything will be ok. Quite rare in a movie these days. But then this is a rare film. 12 years in the making, with the same actors filmed for a week each year. Could have been a one-trick pony but instead captured something very special and extraordinary. Long? Yes, but I didn't want it to end...

Boyhood

And still haunted by its "Song for the Summer" theme song: Hero by Family of the Year.

Balloons in Moon Lane

Last weekend I got to work making papier mâché balloons to replace the real, helium-filled balloons in the window of beautiful Tales on Moon Lane bookshop because of course, helium-filled balloons deflate and fall after a couple of days.
Making them was a bit fraught (not interesting enough to go into details) but hanging them in the heat, in a confined space, also proved quite tricky. But hey, they looked FAB.
Until...

Tales on Moon Lane in the sunshine
Looking good...
I returned an hour later, and three had fallen and split.
But it was hot and I was in a hurry, so here's the thing; Samuel Drew is now holding two balloons, and a blue balloon has quite intentionally floated down to the bottom of the display.

Just hope the 3 remaining suspended balloons stay up...

Possums hit Moon Lane

Ta-daaaa!
Magical & marvellous Tales on Moon Lane has been Possum-ised…
Well, the perfectly bijoux side-window has, anyway. It looks just perfectly-possummy next to the fine-and-dandy, London-themed main window!

Balloons….

…Sam, dog-on-wheels, possums, so many possums….

…& bunting!
